Asleep but yet awake
I wanted silence but there was noise
And all around me
Were things I did not want
So I went to a party
And there were all my friends
But still it was not
Where I wanted to be
Out in the world
The people lived on
Whilst I just looked
For something to do
The problems were there
But I didn’t care
And I’d leave them behind
If I could
It was here and yesterday
That my dreams went away
